World's largest free forging hydraulic press and fully hydraulic forging manipulator successfully tested

Technology Daily (Reporter Shi Junbin, Correspondent Jiao Yue) Recently, a 19,500-ton free forging hydraulic press and a 300-ton/750-ton-meter full hydraulic forging manipulator, independently developed by China Heavy Industry Corporation, successfully completed their first hot load test in Jiangyin, Jiangsu Province. This marks the completion of the world's largest tonnage free forging hydraulic press and the world's largest clamping force/clamping torque full hydraulic forging manipulator, with overall equipment level reaching the world's advanced level.
The 19,500-ton free forging hydraulic press adopts a three-beam, four-column, three-cylinder, upward transmission, press-sleeve insertion, full pre-stressed frame structure. Both the upper and lower beams use pre-stressed composite beams, with a maximum forging capacity of 450 tons. The press can complete free forging processes such as upsetting and drawing, and has both normal forging and fast forging functions. Its operation is stable and impact-free. The 300-ton/750-ton-meter full hydraulic forging manipulator is a completely new structure independently innovated by China Heavy Industry Corporation. It is quick to respond and flexible in movement, and when used with the press, it can achieve manual, semi-automatic, automatic, and linked operation functions. The overall technical level is internationally leading.
From the signing of the contract in 2010, China Heavy Industry Corporation has provided comprehensive technical support and services for this project. Working with the user, they overcame many technical challenges in the processing, welding, heat treatment, and installation of ultra-large components, successfully completing the manufacturing, installation, and commissioning of the unit equipment. The commissioning of this project has improved China's processing capabilities and mechanization level in heavy forging equipment, breaking the manufacturing bottleneck of ultra-large high-quality forgings in large-scale power, shipbuilding, metallurgy, chemical, aerospace, and national defense industries, and consolidating China Heavy Industry Corporation's leading position in the field of heavy forging equipment.

What are the characteristics of a hydraulic press?
